What if I don't know how to operate these UNIX servers?
Not a problem! CPanel is a point and click interface that is as easy as surfing the Net.

But I have never made a Web page before, is it difficult?
It is a lot easier than you might think. Many newbies and neophites come to us with this situation. They want to build a site and sell a product or just have a Web presence to start their own E-community etc. but they have no clue as to where to start. We offer a great HTML tutorial available upon request so the beginner or novice can get started right away! We also are happy to point you to resources on the Web that you can use for FREE!

The tutorial we offer is easy to understand and you will own it and can refer to it at any time. A basic page may require 5 or 10 minutes to build but the really fancy stuff is built into the interface! See actual screen shots of CPanel and Fantastico. These point and click interfaces actually install dozens of ready made applications for you! It takes just seconds to build your own bulletin board or to add a custom counter to a page and many , many more scripts are included. You can build an instant presence with only slight knowledge of HTML and a basic understanding of how to get around on a computer.

How do I place an order?
To order an account simply click on the PayPal SUBSCRIBE button to place your order safely on secured servers.

Are there any restrictions to the content I can put on my server?
Yes - child pornography and other materials that are illegal are not allowed. Click here to read our Acceptable Use Policy.

Is there a minimum time contract/commitment?
Not at all. You can pay monthly. You can also cancel at any time.

How can we offer such a good deal?
We do not spend any money on advertising, this allows us to have a 'word of mouth' clientele and we also buy wholesale so we can pass the savings on to our customers.

Do I have access to update my site 24 hours a day?
Absolutely. Whether you're a day person or a night owl, your site is available for you to update.

How soon will my account be set up and ready for use?
Account orders are placed in a queue and are processed in the order in which they are received. As soon as your account is set up you can immediately begin uploading via your IP address. It may take up to a few days for your domain name to resolve to our servers.

Domain Name Questions:

How long does it take to register a domain name?
It only takes a few minutes, but it may be 24 to 48 hours before the domain can actually be accessed from the web since it has to propagate.

Where can I register a Domain Name?
You can register a domain with our favorite registrar GoDaddy.com for as low as $6.95 per year. Feel free to shop around for other registrars if you like. If you need to register a domain please register before signing up for our hosting to make sure that your preferred domain is not taken already. *NOTE* Americandreamhosting.com is in no way affiliated with or compensated by GoDaddy.com.

What if I already have a registered Domain name?
No problem! Just change the DNS Servers so that your site can be activated on our servers. It usually takes 24 - 48 hours for your site to resolve to our servers. Just contact the registrar or hosting company that you registered with and ask them to change your name servers to the ones specified in your welcome E-mail.

PART 2: TECHNICAL QUESTIONS

What happens after I order an account?
We will begin setting up your account - soon after you order. Once your account is ready and payment is processed, we will contact you via the E-mail address from your Paypal account.

Can I use CGI scripts?
Yes, you will have your own CGI-BIN where you can install your own scripts. All CGI scripts should be uploaded to the cgi-bin folder, for your domain. Be sure to follow the instructions for the script you are uploading regarding setting permissions on the files and folders you create, as they vary from script to script.

Can I use JAVA and Active X?
Yes, you can use compiled JAVA applets and ActiveX components.

Is my site backed up and how often?
It is the clients responsibility to do all backups of their site. If, in the unfortunate event, something happens to your files, it is your responsibility to have a local copy of your files. We are NOT held liable in any way for any files, money, time, effort, etc... lost due to this unfortunate event. Furthermore, if your files are lost, we will attempt to restore them as a gesture of good faith, but make no promises what so ever about whether the files will be brought back successfully or not. Again, backups are the client's responsibility.

How fast are your connections?
Multiple 100Mbps connections.

How do I get my E-mail?
If you're familiar with your E-mail client's setup, use the following information to retrieve E-mail from your POP account:

Incoming mail (POP3) server: mail.yourdomain.com

Outgoing mail (SMTP) server: Use Your Internet Providers

Webmail: http://yourdomain.com/webmail

Your username is your E-mail address.

PART 3: ACCOUNT & BILLING QUESTIONS

What method of payment can I use?
We accept credit cards and E-checks via the secure PayPal system.

How do I cancel my Account?
You can cancel your account at any time by canceling the subscription in Paypal.

What about billing and overdue policies?
If a Paypal payment fails, your account will be given a grace period of 7 days, if payment is not received within the grace period your account will be deleted from our servers.
